Since 1986 Buffalo Lake Development Corporation has undertaken economic development activities for Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement.  BLDC offers a well diversified service profile including as both prime contractors and sub-contractors, employing businesses both on and off Settlement.

The core business is oil and gas related construction with ‘Master Service Agreements’ with several energy companies.

Two major on-going business ventures include managing one provincial recreation area under contract with Alberta Parks and wild land firefighting contracts with Alberta Forestry.
